South Park & First Ward

Southpark is full of beautiful Victorian homes, quaint brick streets and friendly neighbors. It’s convenient to downtown and offers gorgeous views of Morgantown. If you love tree-lined streets, stately homes and a lot of charm you’ll love Southpark.

Sharing much of the same charm as South Park, the First Ward neighborhood is equally close to downtown, but reaches to Green Bag Road and is home to both White Park and Jack Roberts Park. This neighborhood is great option if you like to get your daily dose of nature, or have a dog that requires a great place to walk and run.

Greenmont is the neighborhood that borders Southpark. It’s home to Morgantown institutions like Gene’s Beer Garden and a hip new coffee shop, Quantum Bean. Schools: Eastwood Elementary, Mountaineer Middle, University High

Woodburn is nestled between Jerome Park and downtown. The homes here tend to be a bit smaller, but offer larger yards – perfect for kids and pets. It’s home to many artists, including local sculptor, Jamie Lester, and several bass players. Local theatre company, M.T. Pockets also calls this neighborhood home. Woodburn is home to another Morgantown institution, the original Mario’s Fishbowl. This local watering hole was established in 1963 by Rose and Mario Spina. It’s a great place to grab a cold beer and a bite after work, or the weekend with friends and neighbors. 

Evansdale, Wiles Hill, & Highland Park

Evansdale Schools: Suncrest Elementary, Suncrest Middle, Morgantown High

Evansdale neighborhood of Morgantown is rather small in size, but offers some fantastic homes and even better views. Here you will find Blaney House, home of WVU President E. Gordon Gee, and a leisurely walk down the street will lead you to great restaurants like Ogawa sushi and Ta-Khrai Thai Café. 

Wiles Hill & Highland Park Schools: Suncrest Elementary, Suncrest Middle, Morgantown High

The Wiles Hill-Highland Park neighborhood sits on the east side of University Avenue and is nestled in behind Milan Puskar Stadium and Ruby Memorial Hospital. Both are just a quick walk away. This neighborhood would be fantastic for a football fan, or someone who works for WVU Medicine and desires a short walk to work. You’ll also find the old Wiles Hill Elementary School now serves as a community and senior center run by BOPARC.

If you desire to be in the heart of everything, look no further than Suncrest. Sabraton & Jerome Park

Cheat Lake
